Are you a gambler? Well you might not consider yourself one, until we talk about how prepared you are for whatever the future may bring. There are some very serious words given by President Ezra Taft Benson, "The revelation to produce and store food may be as essential to our temporal welfare today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah."

You can go on YouTube and pull up plenty of talks by president Benson warning of the last days. He says some pretty eye opening things. He warns that he isn't saying things to make people comfortable but he is speaking the words of the Lord.

I often think about the parable of the 10 virgins. It seems that whenever I have heard a lesson on this topic, people always say that we need to be spiritually prepared for the Lord's coming, but I can't understand why they seem to dismiss the fact that we have to be temporally prepared for the Lord's coming too. Especially if we think about the words of President Benson and the fact that the church has continually encouraged us to get a year supply of food.

I wonder how long people will be able to survive here in Hawaii without food, considering that 90% of all food consumed on this island is brought over from the mainland. If I who live in 358 square feet can find space to store food, I don't understand how other's can't make the space as well. To all my friends who think that it is too hard to get food storage, I say, If I can get food storage in Hawaii, then anyone can get food storage. If you spend over $50 at Wal-Mart you even get free shipping and they send it FedEx super fast. They carry many of the popular food storage brands. I love them for that.

I have also been watching a lot of YouTube videos talking about our founding fathers and how President Washington and Lincoln had to establish a covenant with the Lord for this country to prosper. Over and over again the people of this land have not upheld the covenant made and it seems we are ripe for a severe chastening. If we have ever needed a chastening, I am sure we need one today.

I was talking to a coworker who I'll call the fighting Irishman. I can't remember exactly what we were talking about but I told him that we need to pray for the end of the world. He as usual, started to argue with me and claimed that is the last thing we should do. I told him it was in one of the lessons from the teachings of the prophets and doubting Thomas told me I needed to prove it to him. You can find it here. I want Jesus to come. I hope I am ready.

If you haven't figured it out, I do a terrible job telling people what they want to hear. I am much better at focusing on telling the truth, even if it makes people uncomfortable. The bottom line is that the souls of men hang in the balance and that is too great a subject to tip toe around. Get your food storage people!
