We ran our Temple to Temple half marathon from the Draper Temple to the Oquirrh Mt Temple last Saturday. There were 8 runners, 4 men and 4 women. I got first place. I think my half time was about 2:03 but it wasn’t officially timed and we ran a little more than a half marathon. I think it was my hardest route because the hills were pretty steep going up and down. At the end we had to run up to the finish at the Oquirrh Mt Temple.
There was all this talk about how I was going to waste all the other runners and I started to get worried that I wasn’t going to be able to keep up with all the talk but I just focused on doing my best. The thing is that I am the only one who really trained for it. Whit says he is going to beat me next year, but Brooke says she will believe it when she sees it. Maybe that is because he said that about this race and I beat him by 40 minutes I think it was. When I was leaving I said, “Thanks for planning this. It was fun.” One of the guys responded, “Yea and thanks for putting us all to shame.” Anyway the bottom line is that it was very fun and I need to do some recruiting so I can have some competition next year. I also don’t think I would have been able to do it without these adorable cheerleaders.
